This information is general guidance and is not medical advice. If you are unsure whether sunbed use is suitable for you, please speak to your doctor or pharmacist.
Sunbeds emit ultraviolet (UV) radiation. UV exposure, whether from the sun or a sunbed, can damage the skin, cause burning and lead to premature ageing. The effects of UV exposure are cumulative over your lifetime.
Using sunbeds increases the risk of skin cancer, including malignant melanoma. If you notice any new, changing or unusual moles or marks on your skin, please stop tanning and speak to your doctor.
UV radiation can cause serious damage to the eyes. Protective eyewear must be worn for the entire session. Closing your eyes is not enough. Please ask a member of the team if you need eyewear.
Some medicines, creams and cosmetics make the skin more sensitive to UV light. If you start any new medication or treatment, update your safety questionnaire and check with your pharmacist or doctor before tanning.
Sunbeds must not be used by anyone under 18. You should not use a sunbed if you have been advised to avoid UV exposure, have a history of skin cancer, burn easily, or have a condition that may be made worse by UV light. If in doubt, please seek medical advice first.
Remove jewellery and cosmetics before your session. Wear the eyewear provided. Never exceed the session time authorised for you. You can stop the sunbed at any time using the stop control. Allow skin to recover between sessions and avoid sunbathing on the same day.
Our sunbeds are operated in line with the manufacturer's guidance for each model and lamp configuration. Maximum session times are set by Soléa based on that guidance and applicable Isle of Man requirements.
